What does "THIS IMAGE HAS BEEN REMOVED FOR SECURITY REASONS" mean?

Several Hostbaby Customers wrote:

    there are some emails i get that are not spam but there's a msg in them that says, "THIS IMAGE HAS BEEN REMOVED FOR SECURITY REASONS"... some of the things i need are in those emails.. do you know about this?

This is to prevent spammers from tracking you and malicious code from being executed via webmail. In short: you get less spam because of this feature. You can read more details here.


To bypass this security on any given email, open up the mail and simply click View Unsafe Images right above the message body. Once you do that, you can then click Always trust images from this sender to save this functionality for that sender. Be careful, don't show unsafe images for senders you don't trust.


To bypass it for other specific senders or everyone in your address book, login to your webmail and go to Options

then click Unsafe Image Rules (2nd column, 4th link down).

You'll have to read through the settings there and decide what will work for you, don't forget to click the Save button when you are done.
