Unable to Send email
From HostBaby Wiki
Occasionally when setting up an email client, sending new emails does not work, but receiving works fine. The first thing you should do is to verify you have configured your outgoing SMTP server. Take a look at the help files for setting up email clients and verify you have correctly configured everything.
If it is still not working, try these tricks:
- Change your Outgoing/SMTP Port setting from 25 to: 2525 (or alternatively enable SSL, see Advanced Settings - SSL & alternate ports for details)
- Delete any messages in your Outbox/Outgoing folder (not Sent) whenever you make and save server settings. Old outgoing messages can block newer test messages from going out giving you the false impression your updated settings have changed nothing.
- Quit and relaunch your email client whenever you change your server settings. After relaunching your email client, check to make sure your changed email settings were actually saved before you send a new test message.
- Try the SMTP server settings provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Some ISPs do not allow email to be sent out using your own domain - you must use their smtp servers.
