Podcasting with Wordpress
From HostBaby Wiki
The Basics
Podcasting is awesome. But it also takes a lot of work and troubleshooting to manage your own podcast and blog. Sometimes it means you're up at 12 am trying to figure out why the plugin you just installed broke your feed. But If you're willing to put in the work, it can be great fun.
See an example of a Wordpress podcast here: http://cdbabypodcast.com and here http://storylifepodcast.com
There are many books and resources available for podcast beginners.

Getting Started
Here's the basics of getting set up with a Wordpress podcast:
1.Install Wordpress (we can do this for you)
2.Install this plugin http://www.mightyseek.com/podpress
3.drop it in web/wp-content/plugins/ or use the auto-installer
4.Activate in Wordpress admin under plugins.
5.Wala! Now you can choose "Add Media File" when creating a post in Wordpress.
(There also many settings and options for customizing the plugin looks and functionality once it is installed. It will also format your feed for iTunes).
6.To upload podcast audio, hit the media link in Wordpress and upload a file. (you can also upload the file via FTP)
7.Once uploaded, click 'edit' on the newly uploaded file and copy the URL location. You can use this url to insert the media file on any post using the podpress' 'add media' option.
The URL will look something like this: http://www.domainname.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09 . . .
8. insert the mp3 URL under the "Add Media File" and SAVE.
That's the basics.
