Listbaby vs Webmail

Here are a few differences between Webmail and Listbaby. To make things easier, realize there's a difference between your "contacts list" and "mailing list".

Your mailing list is actually completely separate from your Webmail. You access your mailing list by clicking the "Listbaby" icon/link from your main /hostbaby admin page.

You can read more about Listbaby HERE

Listbaby and the Webmail are (and will remain) separate for a few reasons. One is so you can keep your 'personal' address book in your Webmail, and have a separate place for your 'professional' mailing list (i.e. your not crowding your personal list). But the main reason is that you can create as many different Webmail/POP accounts as you'd like (for friends, family, etc..).

You can even *delete* the main E-mail account we assign you and create a totally different one. And technically, our servers have no way of knowing which Webmail account is your "main" account.. we certainly don't want to give *every* Webmail user @ your domain access to your mailing list, right? Plus not everyone uses the Webmail. Many people prefer to use an E-mail program on their computer to get their mail (and most likely wouldn't like being forced to use the Webmail). More details on how to set up an E-mail program can be found HERE

If you want Listbaby to send you a notification email every time someone signs up for you list:

  1. Go to your main Listbaby page
  2. Go to "Info & Help"
  3. Go to "Change your settings"
  4. Scroll down and enable option for "Email me when someone subscribes to my list" and put your preferred email address in the box.

You may also notice the link on the INFO & HELP page for "Copy your webmail address book into your list" .. that's pretty much the only place the Webmail and Listbaby are tied together (we assume only the "main" admin has access to Listbaby, and therefore should be able to have access to the address books of any Webmail user @ his or her domain name).
