Favicon
From HostBaby Wiki
A Favicon.ico is a tiny 16 x 16 pixel image that resides in your browser when you visit a site. For instance, if you visit http://www.theonion.com you will see their green onion logo next to the URL bar in your browser. That's a favicon.ico
So now you ask, "How can I be cool like the Onion and have my very own custom Favicon for my site?"
Well, my friends, the answer is easier than you think!
Step 1 - Make your favicon
There's a couple of ways to make a favicon for your site!
- You can create one using a general image editor like paint.net- it needs to be 16x16 or 32x32 pixels in size, and needs to be labeled "favicon.ico" (that is case sensitive!)
- If you don't want to install any software on your machine to make one, then there are plenty of online favicon makers, like favicon.cc for example.
Step 2 - Get it to us
In order to properly make a favicon available to your site, we'll need to upload it to your web root for you, which we'll be glad to do. You can either upload the file to your File Library. Or you can simply sent it to us as an Email attachment - you can send it to us at hostbaby@hostbaby.com.
Step 3 - Profit
Once we get your image, and notification that you'd like to use it as a favicon, we'll upload it to your site for you!
