Overview
HostBaby's new HTML Editor makes embedding video and audio a snap!
First, log into your HostBaby admin panel:
http://yourdomain.com/hostbaby2/ (replacing yourdomain.com with your actual domain)
In this case, we'll use the Homepage Layout.
Note: Photos must be uploaded to the Image Bank and Videos should be uploaded to the File Bank first!
Posting Photos
1.At the bottom right-hand corner of your editor, you'll see an icon that looks like a tree in a picture frame. That is the Embed Photo link, so let's click on that.
2. If you know the URL of the image, you can just type it in the 'Image URL' box. If you don't, then you can use the Image List, which will give you a drop down of every image you have in your Image Bank. Find the name of the image and select it.
3. Click Insert
4. Save your changes.
5. Publish your site.
Image Advanced Settings
This will pre-populate the image into the content area for you, so you can preview! But what if you want to change the way it's laid out? Make the text wrap around it? Give it some padding or a border? No problem. Click on the Appearance tab.
So, I want this image to be aligned to the right of the text, so I'm going to choose "right" from the Align dropdown.
I also want it to have a 10 pixel padding, and a simple 1 pixel border, so I'm going to enter those settings. You can see how they're reflected in the little preview screen on the right.
There are some other additional features you can play with on the Advanced tab, but that's a whoooole different tutorial, so we'll leave that alone for now. When you're done, click Insert, and it will drop you back into your Homepage Layout section to see how it looks with your actual content and image.
If you're happy, hit Submit, and then you can preview the page on the live site.
Simple as that! Now, on to Video!
Embedding Video
The easiest way to do this is, of course, with YouTube. But if you want to embed your own uploaded video, that's possible too. Just make sure the video is in .mov, .wmv, or .swf format and upload it to your file bank. Once done, we'll go back to the Homepage Layout screen, and this time, we'll click on the litle icon that looks like a film strip.
This will pop open another window, this time asking you to choose what file format your video is in, and to select it from the file dropdown.
Once you've selected the file, click Insert, and it will drop you back down into your Homepage Layout section again with a general preview. The Wizard writes all the embed code for you, so you don't have to worry about it. :)
Video can take a while to load, so don't assume that the administrative preview will show you what it really looks like. But you can click the Preview button at the top of your page to see what the video looks like on your live site. :)
There you go! Embedding video and photos with the Wizard just got easier!
